LOCAL CONSTRUCTION FIRM CELEBRATES SUCCESS IN EAST OF ENGLAND TRAINING AWARDS
Innovation On-Site in Maulden has been recognised in the 2009 Construction Training Awards for its contribution to developing skills and talent within the industry.
At a prize-giving ceremony held on Thursday 1st October 2009, at Radisson SAS Hotel, Stansted, the Specialist Timber Frame Carpentry and Joinery Contractor overcame stiff competition from hundreds of applicants to lift the coveted SME Construction Employer of the Year Award and was praised for its commitment to training despite the difficult economic times.
On accepting the award for Innovation On-Site Tony Wren, Managing Director said: “We strive to attract, nurture and retain the best talent available and training is vital to achieving that. The most valuable asset any construction business has is its workforce and that is why this award is very gratefully received.”
The awards are comprised of twelve separate categories ranging from ‘Adult Learner of the Year’ to ‘Construction High Flyer’ and, through the efforts of organisers the East Region Construction Skills Group and backing by Sector Skills Council ConstructionSkills, are now in their sixth year.
Sir Michael Latham Chairman of ConstructionSkills commented: “Despite the pressures facing the construction industry, the quality of entries this year has been stronger than ever and Innovation On-Site can be justifiably proud to have won through.”
